DCN (Dakota Carrier Network)

Since 1996, DCN has been owned by 13 independent rural broadband companies. Together with us, these owner companies have made significant investments in fiber infrastructure:

DCN and our owners have 65,000 miles of fiber optic facilities deployed across North Dakota. Collectively, we employ more than 1,000 people who live in, work in, and give back to our local communities. The owner companies have a collective total plant investment worth more than $1 billion, and they have invested more than $100 million per year in fiber construction for the last five years. These owner companies represent all the major local independent broadband companies and serve customers in more than 375 communities – more than 85 percent of all the exchanges in the state.

North Dakota has been honored by several publications and organizations as having one of the best data networks in the United States. We’re proud to say that the state of North Dakota deploys our network to support a statewide virtual private network, bringing high-speed network technologies to every school district and government body in the state.
