About Us

Job Service North Dakota has its roots in the Social Security Act of 1935, when Congress established unemployment insurance as part of an employment security system designed to provide an economic safety net during the height of the Depression. Since then, Job Service has broadened its mission to the point where it is involved in all areas of workforce development.

Customers may attend workshops to learn about resume writing, interviewing and other job search techniques. Job Service employment professionals may guide customers through an assessment of their interests and abilities, helping to match up the individual with an appropriate career path. If job seekers do not have the necessary skills to pursue their desired occupations, Job Service employment professionals can help them determine whether they can access funds to enroll in appropriate training.
