The Tucson Hispanic Chamber is the largest Latino business organization in the State of Arizona and one of the top ten Hispanic Chambers in the nation. In 2014, the chamber launched its affiliate chambers in Sierra Vista, Nogales and Douglas. In 2015, a strategic partnership with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry was announced which integrates membership.
The Tucson Hispanic Chamber was founded in 1989 and its Foundation in 1999. The mission of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber and its affiliate chambers is to advocate for and provide services that helps grow its members' businesses in our bilingual and bicultural region.
The Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was awarded the Large Chamber of the Year by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) in 2013. The USHCC recognizes the Chamber of the Year from among the 250 Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in the nation.
Award recipients are selected by an independent panel of judges and are chosen on the basis of major accomplishments in business and economic development, quality of service, innovation of programs, leadership and services provided to the Hispanic and business community. "We are thrilled to be recognized for our services to the business community in Southern Arizona and Northern Mexico. I believe that our incredible membership growth to over 1050 member businesses and our collaborative partnerships throughout the region have been key to our recognition" states Lea Márquez Peterson, President/CEO of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. "Our chamber has built a strong team between our dedicated staff and our Board of Directors which is driving our bi-national regional vision."
