About Us
Addie Fripp Cobb, founder and Executive Director of the ADDIE COBB GOLF ACADEMY, INC. is a Certified Golf Teaching Professional with the United States Golf Teaching Federation (USGTF) since 2004. She is an alumnus of Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ, with a BS degree in Accounting. After leaving corporate American in 1991 Addie decided to pursue her passions, one of which was golf. The daughter of a golf teaching professional, Addie has played golf for over thirty years and won numerous amateur tournaments from 1980 to 2004. She’s played in the Regional and National LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals Pro/AM events from 2002 to 2004 and helped to lead her amateur team to a first place finish in the 2002 LPGA Regional Teaching and Club Professionals Pro/Am Championship.

Ms. Cobb is also a contributing writer for the African American Golfer’s Digest Magazine and offers “tips” on how to improve your golf game. She is a member of the magazine’s advisory board and contributed to the writing of the book called Lil Black Book, a new golfer’s handbook which emphasizes faster play and care of the greens. This book debuted at the PGA Show in Orlando, FL in January, 2008.

Addie was the golf instructor at Moody Air Force Base’s Quiet Pines Golf Course for 6 years. During that period, she saw the impact that the game had on the young and old alike. There she developed and administered the Youth After-School Golf Program. It was so successful she founded the Addie Cobb Golf Academy, Inc. in order to introduce the program to area youth who might not otherwise experience this great game.Addie Fripp Cobb, founder and Executive Director of the ADDIE COBB GOLF ACADEMY, INC. is a Certified Golf Teaching Professional with the United States Golf Teaching Federation (USGTF) since 2004.
