The owner, Rob Whetzel, developed a love for he automotive industry at an early age, setting a goal of owning his own automotive repair shop. He began with a small engine repair and from there attended Midland Technical College to obtain certification in all aspects of automotive repair. Rob also served as a jet engine mechanic in the United States Air Force, for 12 years, while continuing to work toward his passion of having an automotive repair shop. The passion was he wanted to help others keep their car in top shape and the extended family was born.
Now Rob and his wife, Kathy are living his dream of owning Whetzel?s Automotive and serving people in the Midlands. They are active in their local community, attending The Harvest Church and sponsoring local ministries throughout the area. Rob serves on the Midlands Technical College Automotive Advisory Board and is a member of the Columbia Executive Business Owners Association. Kathy has her own amazing background and brings 20 years of automotive management experience to the business. She encouraged Rob to follow his passion and together, they are an unbeatable pair and knowing you that ensure you and your vehicle will be treated like family. My personal favorite part of the family are Abby and Baxter, the shop?s boxers who are very lovable and there just for fun.
