A Christmas Carol

Come get in the Holiday spirit with Village Square Theatre's production of A Christmas Carol which opens December 8 and runs through December 18. Watch as this adaption of the story of Ebenezer Scrooge journeys from an embittered, ungenerous creature, to a giving, caring human being at the hands of three spirits, who, one Christmas Eve, show him what life means. Use the following code to receive $5 off each ticket purchased. When purchasing tickets for a Thursday show, use the code:THURSDAY. When purchasing tickets for a weekend show, use the code: SCROOGE. Spirit of Giving Party

89.7 WMHK in conjunction with Christ Central Ministries will be hosting a FREE party for the Spirit of Giving. This event has been ongoing where families throughout the midlands have been giving donations to families who need a brighter Christmas this year. Our honored guests will experience FREE food, live entertainment, caroling, an “Elf Brigade” handing out candy canes to children … and lots of surprises! Volunteers will have the opportunity to share God’s love through a variety of ministries including: greeting people, serving food, distributing gifts and turkeys, providing directions, directing traffic, and for some when asked … pray for others. 2. Thank you in advance for being punctual: 7AM - Setup of vehicles, stage, portable restrooms, etc. 8AM - Volunteers arrive at sign-in area, setup of tables and chairs, preparation for gift and turkey distribution 10AM - “Party” begins (music starts, food served, gifts distributed) 3PM - “Party” concludes 3. Hope Plaza is the 2000 block of Main Street in Columbia, bordered on three sides by Elmwood Avenue, Calhoun Street and Sumter Street.

Columbia Half Marathon

Attention - All USC Baseball Fans!!! Bobby Haney- Shortstop on the 2010 USC College World Series Championship Team, will be holding a Book Signing at Cafe Strudel on December 18th @ 2pm!!! Bobby is currently signed with the San Fransisco Giants Minor League Augusta Greenjackets. Bobby's book "From Kings Park to Omaha" chronicles his life, from growing up in Kings Park, Long Island, New York to that historic win in Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. Bobby will be on hand to personalize your copy! (books are $15).
