Governor Dayton honors Minnesota's Water Heroes
Governor Dayton Honors 'Water Heroes"

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton honored three Minnesota “Water Heroes” for their efforts in protecting and improving the water quality and availability in Minnesota as part of his Water Action Week that culminated with Earth Day on Friday.

Dayton honored Patty Hall, Dave Legvold, and Randall Hogan in a ceremony Friday, and encouraged Minnesotans to learn from their actions.

Hall was recognized for taking action in Minnesota schools. A former Mounds View teacher, Hall founded H20 For Life in 2007 after bringing her students together to raise awareness, and funds, to address global water challenges. H20 For Life curriculum, available at www.h2oforlifeschools.org, helps teach students about water challenges and what can be done to improve water quality.

Adopt-A-Highway

Adopt-A-Highway
Saturday, April 30th
9:00am - Noon

The Chamber has had the privilege of "adopting "a 2 mile stretch of Highway 61 since the early 1990's. Each year a team of volunteers get together to pick up the trash along Hwy 61 from County Road F to Hwy 96 East. The job typically takes 2 - 3 hours.

This year, we will meet at the Chamber office - review a short video, pick up vests, gloves, bags &  "grabbers", then head out with the team. Lunch will be provided after the cleanup. Please call Maureen at 651-429-8593 or email at maureen@whitebearchamber.com if you have any questions.

Highway 61 is very busy, so please, no children under the age of 12.  All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
