2016 Women In Business
7th Annual Purse Drive
The WBA Chamber Women in Business Group (WIB) is again sponsoring the women tenants of Solid Ground. For the 7th year, the WIB will present each of the 35 women at Solid Ground with a new handbag filled with a variety of items.

Solid Ground helps prevent and end homelessness for families with children through housing, resources and opportunity.  It is the intention of the WIB to extend our hands in helping other women in need, increasing morale and self-esteem.  It truly is amazing how a new handbag can make someone feel.

To donate a handbag (preferable new & “mom” size) or items/goodies (35 of each) to stuff into them, please contact Maureen at the Chamber office at 651.429.8593 or
maureen@whitebearchamber.com.  You can also drop your donations at the Chamber office located at 4751 Highway 61, White Bear Lake, Monday—Friday between 9am and 4pm.

Biz Aware

Biz Recycling - Did you Know?
How Local Businesses are Saving Money and Protecting the Envrionment!

Through their recycling commitment, Grandma’s Bakery has dramatically changed their business operations. Among the many changes, there are recycle bins strategically located and properly labeled by every trash container, any remaining food items are now recycled for animal food and all organic materials are composted. “Recycling is the good thing to do. It is socially responsible and will save you money,” says John Lupo, President of Grandma’s Bakery. With the placement of putting the right bin in the proper location and delegating certain staff members to check the recycling bins, he was able to get the employee and customer compliance to the recycling program. Business is up for Grandma’s Bakery and due to their recycling efforts, they haven’t seen a cost increase for their garbage hauling.
