Biz Aware

Biz Recycling - Did you Know?
WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR RECYCLING?

Recyclable materials are hauled to a local materials recovery facility where they are sorted (both by hand and mechanically) into categories such as paper, aluminum, steel, cardboard, glass and plastic. Once sorted, the materials are then sold to end markets to be manufactured into new products. More than a thousand Minnesota businesses use your recycling to make their products:
  • Cardboard is recycled into cardboard at businesses
  • Paper is recycled into paper products, such as paper towels, egg cartons and boxes
  • Glass is recycled into bottles, jars and countertops or used as road aggregate at businesses
  • Plastic is recycled into plastic lumber, bottles, carpeting and even clothing at business
Minnesota businesses report that they need more locally sourced recycling for their manufacturing plants!
