Joel Anderson, Ramsey County BizRecycling will explain how easy it is to get started with or expand a business recycling program.

Everyone will have an opportunity to market their business while enjoying a fantastic breakfast! The only cost to attend is for your breakfast. Please RSVP as space is limited.
Business connections are a valuable Chamber option. When Chamber members make business connections the entire community prospers.

Marijuana Legalization & The Workforce
What it Means for Employers

The legalization of recreational marijuana in Minnesota could   become a reality, as early as this year. While there are many social aspects to this debate, the issue that has hardly been discussed relates to the impact of marijuana usage on employee policies, overall employee productivity, and other factors affecting the workplace itself. Mr. Curtis Graves, Esp. SPHR, of the Colorado Employer’s Council will share insights on these, and other, topics that Colorado businesses have addressed since 2014 when marijuana became legal in their state.

The cost to attend this luncheon is $35 for Chamber Members and $45 for Non-Chamber Members. Space is limited and registration is required.

Teacher Externships

2019 TEACHER EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The White Bear Area Chamber of Commerce and the Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District are partnering together to offer a Teacher Externship program to our members. We have a group of eligible educators that will be placed in a member business with the focus on building a bridge between skills-based and knowledge-based education.

It is vital that our education system partners with area businesses so that relevant connections between classroom content and students’ future career interest can be realized. Through this unique professional development opportunity, educators from among the Northeast Metro 916 School District area will be selected to work side-by-side with an industry peer during a 5 day paid summer externship experience at a participating White Bear Area Chamber of Commerce member business. If your business is interested in hosting a Teacher in your workplace, please email Shari at the Chamber Office or call 651-429-8593. There is no cost to businesses to participate in this exciting program!

Rethink Recycling

SORTING RECYCLABLES FROM THE TRASH

It’s a common misconception that recyclables and organics (food waste) are separated from the trash by either your trash hauler or at its final destination. Good intending people end up tossing their plastic water bottle in the trash, thinking it will be sorted out later. We’re sorry to say, that’s not true.
