New MN Laws going into effect August 1st

The new "Hands Free" law broadens the state’s existing ban on texting while driving, barring drivers from holding a cellphone or other wireless communication device while operating a motor vehicle that is in motion or operating as a part of traffic on a street or highway.

The "Move Over" law requires slower drivers to move out of the left lane or face a fine. While this law is intended to make our roads safer and more efficient, it does not give drivers permission to speed!

For a list of all of the new laws, visit the Minnesota Legislature HERE.

Rethink Recycling

Did you know that if your business has high-quality, surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, it can be donated to local food shelters instead? The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that 25% to 40% of food grown, processed and transported in the United States will never be consumed. When your business has high-quality, surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, it can be donated to local food shelters instead, like the White Bear Area Food Shelf!
