"Strengthen Business through Advocacy, Networking and Education"

Our sympathy and prayers

Our profound compassion and prayers go out to the family and friends of George Floyd as well as the businesses, owners, employees and residents who have been affected by the recent neighborhood unrest. Acknowledging this, we need to move forward with thoughtful conversation and determine way to be better, do better and create a better future for all. Together, we can make a difference.

Thank you to the City of White Bear Lake!

Exciting News! Last week, the City Council of White Bear Lake adopted a resolution 'Authorizing Regulatory Flexibility and Use of City Property by Local Businesses.'

Among other provisions, the resolution will allow for businesses to use adjacent City property for customer seating and displays of products available for sale. For those businesses with liquor licenses, this resolution will also allow them to serve alcohol in the expanded areas approved by the plan. Please see the attached for all of the resolution information.

Additionally, thanks to the generous donation of fellow chamber member, JL Schwieters Building Supply & Construction who will be donating the supplies and building 20 picnic tables that will be strategically placed to provide extra seating for take-out, including your beverages of choice.

Thank you to the City of White Bear Lake for your efforts in helping the local businesses and thank you again, to JL Schwieters Building Supply & Construction Inc. for your inspiring donation.

THURSDAY - Government Affairs - Mn Pollution Control Agency addresses Clean Cars MN (California Cars)

At Issue: Clean (California) Cars MN and the impact on Minnesota
Guest Speakers: Amanda Smith, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
Thursday, June 4th | 8:00am - 9:00am

In a virtual meeting platform, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will be addressing the White Bear Area Chamber regarding Clean Cars MN that is slated to be imposed in the state of Minnesota. Governor Walz is in support of the low and zero emissions vehicles standards and seeks to implement them through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is considering adopting rules that require vehicle manufacturers to deliver vehicles to the Minnesota market that produce lower emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and other air pollutants. The Clean Cars Minnesota rulemaking has two parts: the Low-Emission Vehicle (LEV) standard and the Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) standard.

We look for a great discussion on this topic and welcome your comments and questions at the end of the program. Registration is required and you will be sent a link to the meeting one day prior to the event.

What are the LEV and ZEV Standards?
