The Governor’s tax and spending increases are on the floor – the Senate and House targets are even higher.  The new 4th tier on the income tax, going from 7.85% to 9.85%, makes Minnesota’s top rate the fourth highest in the country.  Add to that a surcharge on incomes greater than $500,000 as proposed by the House, and our rate rises to the second highest in the country, tied with Hawaii and after California.

Business & Achievement Awards
The annual White Bear Area Chamber Business & Achievement Awards celebration is just around the corner.  This event highlights the value our business community brings to the White Bear area.  It is scheduled for this Wednesday, March 27th at Jimmy’s in Vadnais Heights and lasts just over an hour. The Chamber also provides several scholarships to worthy high school seniors. Tim McNiff  KARE 11 Emmy award winning newscaster will act as Master of Ceremonies.
