I encourage you to attend our December Government & Public Affairs Committee.
Tom Forsythe the Vice President of General Mills Government Affairs will be our guest.
 
Mr. Forsythe is a business representative on the MnSure Board which is the Minnesota site for the Affordable Care Act.   We will discuss potential venues to make MnSure more accountable for the business community.

The Government Affairs Committee meets on Tuesday, December 17th at Washington Square Bar& Grill at 7:30am.
 
Also, with the new economic forecast for Minnesota showing over a billion dollar surplus, it is important to contact our legislators and encourage them to rescind the business to business sales taxes that were passed in the waning hours of last year’s legislative session. Eliminating these proposed taxes will boost job growth and economic development in Minnesota.

It is with much sadness that we mourn the passing of Keith Warner.  Keith passed away on December 10th after battling brain cancer.  Keith was a friend to many of us in the White Bear and Vadnais Heights areas, a dedicated volunteer for the American Cancer Society who started the White Bear Lake Relay for Life and a leader of the VHEDC.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
 

We congratulate Bill Foussard from the White Bear Country Inn for being inducted into the Minnesota Hospitality Associations' Hall of Fame.
