Workers’ Compensation Commission Information
The Insurance Compliance Division of the Workers’ Compensation Commission is responsible for enforcing the mandatory insurance provisions of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act. Most of the nearly 400,000 Illinois employers carry workers’ compensation insurance for their employees. However, for those employers who do not comply, it is our responsibility to bring these uninsured employers into compliance.

In 2012, the Insurance Compliance Division launched an employer education initiative called “Educate, Before We Enforce”. The goal of the initiative is to reach as many employers as possible and inform them of their obligations to provide workers’ compensation insurance for their employees.

Over the last four years, we have reached out to hundreds of Illinois business through business expos and through local chambers of commerce. We are pleased to share with you a copy of our informational brochure, Workers’ Compensation Insurance Compliance at a Glance for Employers.
