| 8th annual Marion Chamber Foundation Bass Tournament held The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation sponsored the 8th annual two-person Bass Tournament at Pyramid Acres Marina on Sunday, March 25. The event was a fundraiser for the Marion Chamber Foundation. The event was a fundraiser for the Marion Chamber Foundation. Keith Liddell and Zack Liddell, both of Carterville, took home $1,268 and the first place trophy for catching four fish weighing 15.86 pounds. Keith also took home the Big Bass trophy and $530 for catching a 6.06 pound bass. Greg Templeton of Pinckneyville and John Templetone of Coulterville took home $458 and the second place trophy for catching four fish weighing in at 15.79 pounds. Earning $332 and third place trophies were Rusty Rosenthal of Coulterville and Glenn Dalton of O'Fallon who caught four fish that weighed 14.23 pounds. Jeff Harrell of Carterville and James Wilson of Herrin placed fourth with four fish at 14.00 pounds. The team earned $252. In fifth place was Tim Norman of Marion and John Lamasteer of Herrin who caught four fish weighing 13.46 pounds. They earned $184. Earning $138 and sixth place was Hunter Gronds of Johnston City and Addison Eggertson of West Frankfort with four fish, weighing 11.62 pounds. In seventh place was Matt Strobel and Tyler Strobel, both of Marion, who caught four fish that weighed 11.06 pounds. The team earned $92. In eighth place was Randall Neibarger of Marshall and JT Russell of Goreville who caught three fish, weighing 10.45 pounds. The team earned $70. 30% of the entry fees went toward the Marion Chamber Foundation. The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation currently offers two scholarships: John A. Logan College Tuition Waiver and a Grad Spree Scholarship. The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation awards these scholarships based on the amount of money generated by the fundraising efforts from the previous year.
