Marion Community Day held on June 29
Marion Community Day at Rent One Park was held on Friday, June 29.  The Southern Illinois Miners faced off against the Gateway Grizzlies.



Marion Community Day at Rent One Park was held on Friday, June 29.  The Southern Illinois Miners faced off against the Gateway Grizzlies.  Attendees showed their community spirit and support for Marion by attending the game on Friday, June 29, which was also MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT!

A pre-game performance by Victoria Shore, Miss Southern Illinois Outstanding Teen 2018 and first runner up to Miss Illinois Outstanding Teen, started the evening.

The first pitch was thrown at 7:05 p.m. 

 A portion of ticket sales at the Marion Chamber through June 25 went to the Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Grad Spree program.

The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation sponsors Grad Spree, which was started more than 30 years ago to help insure that graduation is the beginning of a new life, not the end of one. The Chamber provides a night of fun-filled activities following graduation ceremonies. The cost of this event is covered by direct donations and dollars raised at various Marion Chamber of Commerce fundraisers.
