The Corpus Christi procession is a centuries-old tradition of the Catholic faith, processing the Real Presence of Jesus—the Eucharist—in public. Processing through the community with the Blessed Sacrament on the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) is a venerable Church tradition.
The procession is an outward demonstration of Catholic faith and belief in the Real Presence of the Risen Christ, under the appearance of the Consecrated Host. Our Diocese celebrates this annual event the Sunday following the Solemnity of Corpus Christi (Thursday).
The celebration includes Mass, a procession through the town of Woodland Park and concludes back at Our Lady of the Woods for a feast. Mass will be at 9 am at Our Lady of the Woods in Woodland Park with the Procession and Feast to follow. (There will be no Mass at St. Peter Chapel that day).
