Join us for our 6th Annual Fundraiser to benefit Old World Wisconsin, our Sunset Soiree...an enchanted evening celebrating a new vision for Black history at Old World Wisconsin. The Chair of our Board of Trustees has issued a challenge for us to raise $40,000 by August 2 to enhance the Pleasant Ridge exhibit and the stories shared about rural Black history in Wisconsin. Sunset Soiree on August 10 is a celebration for those who donate to this fundraiser.
Location
Old World Wisconsin W372 S9727 Hwy 67 Eagle, WI 53119
Those who donate $250 or more will receive an invitation for 2 people to join us at Old World Wisconsin on the evening of August 10 for food, drinks, live music, a tram ride and a short optional presentation about the Pleasant Ridge community located in Grant County WI. This rural community is well-documented thanks to Olive Green Lewis who preserved their history. A reproduction of the United Brethren Church along with a cemetery chapel from Pleasant Ridge are located at Old World Wisconsin. With financial support, OWW will enhance this experience into a dynamic attraction and celebrate the many stories of the rural Black families whose bounty, labor and livelihood made this place home.
