Debra Marquart is a Professor of Liberal Arts & Sciences and teaches in the MFA Program in Creative Writing and Environment at Iowa State University. The author of seven books, The topics in Marquart’s seven books and ongoing research projects range widely to include the following: agriculture and rural life; music performance and popular music history; immigration and travel; and environmental issues such as oil extraction and climate change. As singer-songwriter and former road musician, Marquart fuses poetry, music, and storytelling into her performance “Poetry, Music, and the Environment.”
