The Georgia Latino International Film Festival (GALIFF) is produced every September-October during Hispanic Heritage month by the Georgia Latino Film Alliance,(GALFA) an Afro – Latino curated, nonprofit, multidisciplinary arts organization dedicated to developing, promoting, and increasing awareness of Latino culture among Latinos and other communities by presenting a wide variety of films, music, and entertainment. The Georgia Latino International Film Festival began in 2011 with 12 films screened at Georgia Public Broadcasting Studios for 150 viewers and has now grown into the fastest growing film festival in the southeast
The growth of the Festival from 150 attendees to more than 1,500 in 12 years is clear evidence of the great demand for quality Latino films in Georgia. During the festival, over 300 films are submitted, feature and shorts films from all over Latin America, Spain, Georgia, and the United States. The programming represents the great diversity and very best genres of filmmaking. The Festival also features opportunities for the audiences to participate in discussions with the directors at the screenings as well as at the series of special events highlighting the diversity of the Latino culture. 2024 will mark the 13th anniversary of the Georgia Latino International Film Festival.
