Event Description
The Colusa County Chamber of Commerce and the Colusa County Partnership (CCP) will provide members with no-cost assistance in filing Beneficial Ownership Information Reports. The new filing requirement, created under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) to combat illicit financial activity, went into effect on January 1, 2024.
Under the act, most small businesses, corporations, and LLCs across the United States must file Beneficial Ownership Information reports, also known as Corporate Transparency Reports. Failure to file carries potential civil and criminal penalties. Civil penalties for a violation are up to $500 per day. Criminal penalties are up to 2 years of imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
CCP Representatives will provide assistance through the Chamber of Commerce at their offices at 2963 Davison Court in Colusa. CCP will be on site Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM—3 PM beginning December 3 through January 30. Appointments can be scheduled with Andy Lucas at andy@cds.consulting or by calling (916) 995-4675.
In addition to assisting with the Beneficial Ownership Reports, CCP assists with Business and Marketing Plan Development and preparing to Access Business Capital.
