Crossroads United Way is excited to announce the return of its highly anticipated annual fundraiser, Power of the Purse 2025, set to take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at The Crosswalk at the Ligonier Methodist Church, located at 466 Townline Road, Ligonier, IN. Doors will open at 11:00 AM for this impactful event, which raises crucial funds to support early childhood literacy initiatives in the region.
This year’s Power of the Purse event will feature a sit-down lunch included in the ticket price, along with a beautiful small floral arrangement for attendees. In preparation for this exciting gathering, Crossroads United Way is actively seeking sponsorships and purse donations to ensure the event’s success.
Sponsorship opportunities and purse package donations will be accepted until April 4, 2025, and we encourage community members, businesses, and organizations to consider contributing. Additionally, we invite you to share this opportunity with your networks to help expand our reach.

Tickets for Power of the Purse will go on sale starting March 1, 2025. Tables seating up to eight guests will be available for purchase, providing a fantastic opportunity for businesses and groups to enjoy an inspiring and enjoyable afternoon together while supporting a worthy cause. Tickets are available online at crossroadsuw.org/events, or you can stop by the Noble County Community Foundation at 103 W Third Street, Ligonier, IN to purchase tickets in person with cash or check.
Supporting Early Childhood Literacy
All proceeds from Power of the Purse 2025 will support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a program dedicated to fostering early childhood literacy by providing free books to children from birth to age five, regardless of family income. These books are delivered monthly, encouraging a lifelong love for reading and setting children on a path toward educational success.
As the Local Program Partner, Crossroads United Way covers the shipping costs of these books, approximately $32 per child per year. Currently, nearly 5,000 children throughout our region benefit from this program, but with additional support, we have the potential to reach up to 22,000 children.
