Railroads were the most efficient method of transportation in the Gold Rush era. From 1870 to 1910, 5,000 miles of railroads were built through some of the most demanding terrain, and made the settlement of Colorado possible.

A park pass is required to access the park. Passes can be purchased for $10 at the Visitor Center from 9am-4pm. Or with cash at the self-serve station by the big info sign on your right when you enter the park.
