Celebrate the Valentine’s season with an evening of music, laughter, and lively piano entertainment! Pianist Peter Bergin brings his Ragtime Romance Revue to the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center on Thursday, February 12 at 7:00 PM. Join us for a concert and reception filled with toe-tapping rags, humorous love songs, and timeless American favorites.
Bergin’s program spans more than a century of popular music, blending lighthearted love songs with energetic ragtime classics and nostalgic American standards. Audiences can expect a mix of songs like traditional favorites from the early 1900s alongside more modern gems — all delivered with Bergin’s spirited piano playing, quick wit, and engaging storytelling. With roots in Michigan and a lifelong passion for Early American Popular Music, Peter Bergin has built a career devoted to sharing the rhythms and melodies that shaped our musical heritage. He has performed at major festivals across the country, including the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival, West Coast Ragtime Festival, and Zehnder’s Ragtime Festival, and regularly tours as a Michigan Humanities Touring Artist. As the founder and artistic director of The American Jamboree, Bergin continues his mission of keeping America’s original popular music alive for audiences everywhere.
