Event Description

The Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra (LWSO), the only professional orchestra on the Eastside, announces its 2026 Annual Education Concert, a free community event celebrating the cultural diversity of classical music. Originally created for 5th grade students, the concert is now a beloved tradition that welcomes all ages, including families, seniors, and community members from across the region.

The performances will take place on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:30 AM and Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Overlake Christian Church in Redmond.

Conducted by Kim Roy, this year’s program highlights global voices and musical storytelling from a wide range of traditions. The repertoire includes works by Florence Price, Black Violin, Stella Sung, Arturo Marquez, Rimsky‑Korsakov, and Lin‑Manuel Miranda, as well as “Golden” from K‑Pop Demon Hunters and two movements from Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate’s acclaimed work Spirit Chief Names the Animal People. Together, these selections showcase the breadth, vibrancy, and evolving nature of orchestral music.

The theme, Music Unites Us All, reflects LWSO’s commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming musical experiences that resonate with the Eastside’s diverse communities. The concert is designed to spark curiosity, inspire young learners, and offer audiences of all ages the chance to experience the power of live symphonic music.

The event is free and open to the public, with registration required to ensure appropriate seating and accessibility accommodations.
