About Us

Riverwood Designs creates wedding and special event floral designs and provides wedding and event planning management/day-of-coordinating services throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and DC. Because Riverwood Designs is not a retail storefront, our clients are people we get to know, and they get to know us. We work with each client individually, whether in an in-person meeting, a virtual meeting, over the phone, or via email. We custom-fit each client with designs that fit their tastes, style, and floral design vision. 
Joseph and Rob and their associates work together to form a creative, dynamic, and efficient team, bringing vibrant energy and a unique perspective to your event. Joseph is a Certified Wedding and Event Planner and floral designer. His inherent obsession for logistics, organization, and time management ensures that the bridal couple, along with their family and friends, relish the experience that is a wedding day. On the opposite end of logistics is his enthusiasm for creating the ceremony and centerpiece floral designs for weddings. Rob is a Signature Wedding and Event Designer and floral designer. Rob has been interested in interior, floral, and fashion design for as long as he can remember. He loves incorporating current trends and classic elements into the bridal bouquets and bridal party flowers he designs. His event management skills benefit from his Master's Degree in Education Administration. In our "other lives," we have worked in education and retail management. Along the way, we have created strong ties in a community that extends well beyond our home base in Gloucester Point. This is the benefit of Rob's 33-year-teaching career in York and New Kent Counties, his 13-year association with Colonial Williamsburg, Joseph's businesses in Charlottesville and Orange, and his continued involvement with the local community. We maintain a residence in Richmond that gives us a base of operations there when needed. Along with connections to much of Virginia, we bring an understanding of and dedication to exemplary client relationships.
