Since its establishment in 1992, Operation HOPE has been dedicated to advancing America from a focus on civil rights to what they refer to as “silver rights.” Their mission is centered around the idea of making free enterprise and capitalism accessible and beneficial for underserved communities. By doing so, they aim to disrupt poverty for millions of low and moderate-income individuals across the nation.
One of their most impactful initiatives is the HOPE Inside program, which was recognized as the “Innovator of the Year” by American Banker magazine in 2016. Through this community uplift model, Operation HOPE has been able to serve millions of individuals and direct billions of dollars in economic activity into disenfranchised communities. This has resulted in tangible transformations such as turning check-cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners, minimum wage workers into living wage consumers, and uncertain disaster victims into financially empowered disaster survivors.
