Like Us on Facebook	Letter from the President I am thrilled that this week the St. Louis area Chamber Exec’s will be getting together for our quarterly “meeting”, which is actually more like a therapy session for Chamber people over lunch. We did away with having an actual agenda years ago. Now we just open the lunch with, “So, what’s happening?” I’m sure you can imagine we are never short of topics to discuss. If you are not meeting or spending some time on the phone with other Chamber professionals in your area on a regular basis, I would strongly encourage you to do so. Whether you need to brainstorm, get advice, or be talked off the ledge- CCEM is full of others in your boat who understand. I’d also like to encourage you to take a look at the upcoming professional development opportunities listed in this newsletter. Chamber Management Academy is only two months away, and as you’ll see from the agenda, the content and speakers are fantastic! A little further into your calendar, please plan on attending CCEM’s Fall Conference, October 8-10 in St. Charles. Brent McCoy (Springfield Area Chamber) and Ginger LaMar (Joplin Area Chamber) are working to ensure that this is yet another phenomenal conference for CCEM. August 21-22, 2014 Missouri Chamber of Commerce Jefferson City, MO Registration Information Fall Conference: October 8-10 Make sure you have the dates saved for the CCEM Fall Conference. This year's event will be October 8-10 at the Embassy Suites St. Charles. Registration and agenda information coming soon. While we are talking about fall conference.... Each year, CCEM awards scholarships to help Chamber staff members continue their professional development at conferences such as CCEM Conference, MAKO, ACCE and Institute. These scholarship funds are raised during our fall conference and we need your help! Silent Auction Items Needed We are looking for large package items such as a weekend getaway to your community, overnight stays in hotels, entertainment packages, etc. If you have something like this that you can donate for the silent auction, it will help us with our scholarships. Casino Prizes Winners from the Casino Night will have the opportunity for chances to win the wonderful prizes that are donated from YOU! If you can put together a gift basket from your community for this effort, we would love it!! Lottery Ticket Board Another way to help the scholarship committee, and possibly yourself, is to bring various types of lottery tickets to donate to our lottery ticket board.
