Blood Assurance, founded in 1972 as a collaborative effort, is a nonprofit regional blood center dedicated to ensuring a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood components to healthcare facilities across Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, and North Carolina. With the support of over 540 volunteer blood donors daily, Blood Assurance operates 15 fixed locations and 19 bloodmobiles, enabling accessibility and convenience for donors and ensuring vital blood products are available for patients in need. Committed to safety and efficiency, Blood Assurance holds licensure from regulatory bodies including the Tennessee Department of Public Health, the Georgia Department of Human Resources, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, while also maintaining affiliations with prestigious organizations such as the American Association of Blood Banks and Blood Centers of America.
Beyond blood collection, Blood Assurance's research division, OurCEL Solutions, is dedicated to advancing medical science and improving patient outcomes. Through participation in research studies or blood donation, individuals can contribute to both immediate patient care and the development of innovative medical treatments.
