Faith in Action of Adams County is an interfaith volunteer care giving program, bringing together volunteers from many faiths to work together to care for their neighbors who have long-term health needs.
FAAC volunteers come from churches, synagogues, mosques and other houses of worship, as well as the community at large. Volunteers help those in need by providing non-medical assistance with tasks such as:
Picking up a few groceries or running errands
Providing rides to the doctor
Friendly visiting (talking and listening)
Reading or helping to pay bills
With this volunteer assistance, members of the community who have long-term health needs can maintain their independence as long as possible.
The mission of Faith in Action of Adams county is to provide a faith based community progrm of interfaith volunteers to help with daily activities of the elderly, physcially disabled, mentally challenged, young families and/or chronically mentally ill of Adams County with long term health needs in order to maintain their independence and quality of life in their place of residence for as long as possible, and to build a network of friends and neighbors to establish a strong sense of community and volunteerism.
