Welcome to Defined Fitness!

Our History 

Defined Fitness was started in 1986 in Albuquerque as a workout facility for the parents and employees of an adjacent preschool. As physical fitness grew in popularity, Defined Fitness opened its doors to the general public. In June of 1988, Defined Fitness moved to a larger location to expand operations. 

With the core principles of superior customer service, unmatched value, and an industry innovation of month-to-month memberships, Defined Fitness quickly became and continues to be the industry leader in the Albuquerque metro area growing from one location consisting of approximately 13,000 square feet to five locations with over 179,000 square feet of workout space. Each club is a full-service center offering state-of-the-art strength training, cardiovascular equipment, a wide variety of group exercise classes, cutting edge athletic programming and an aquatic complex featuring an indoor pool, hot tub, dry sauna and steam room. In addition to offering a wide variety of cutting edge group fitness classes, Defined Fitness offers individual and group personal training.

In 2008, Defined Fitness opened up a fifth club location in Farmington, NM. The Juan Tabo club also expanded to almost doubling the size adding several new specialized training spaces that included a running track, turf, large TRX training space, Mind Body Studio and two specialized Techno Gym training areas.

In 2018, Defined Fitness celebrated our 30th year changing lives in the New Mexico community. Along with our 40,000 members, countless community partners and organizations we have supported over the years, we are proud to be voted New Mexico's Best Gym.

In 2019, Defined Fitness has announced four new locations in the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe Areas!
- Central & Unser: Opening November 2019
- Santa Fe: Opening December 2019
- Enchanted Hills: Opening February 2020
- Hilltop Plaza: Opening April 2020*

*The current Ridgerock location will be relocating to this new area.
