About MANA de Albuquerque
MANA de Albuquerque Hermanitas® Program
The Hermanitas® program offers one-on-one mentoring and personal, career and leadership training for girls 11-17. They meet monthly during the school year and participate in workshops designed to encourage girls to stay in school, pursue high academic and career goals, maintain and/or improve their health, raise their self confidence and expectations for the future. MANA has a memorandum of understanding with Girl Scouts. MANA de Albuquerque Hermanitas are also a standalone Girl Scout Troop with all benefits and privileges. Mentors who serve in the MANA HERMANITAS® program are called Madrinas®. Madrinas® attend all Hermanita’s® monthly meetings, other events and communicate weekly with their Hermanitas.
AvanZamos® Leadership Program
Leadership development also occurs on a “grass roots” basis through the all volunteer leadership of each chapter’s Board of Directors and Committees. Chapters organize and produce workshops, conferences, fundraise and other activities on leadership development, community service and advocacy. The AvanZamos® Initiatives is a national effort providing adult leadership training for personal and professional development, community benefit and capacity building.
