About Us

Marc Powell is the Executive Director and co-founder of the National Hispanic Automobile Alliance (NHAA).

Formed with the support of the AHCC, the NHAA was created in late 2019 to level the playing field for Hispanic auto consumers and dealers, with almost 5,000 dealer members joining during 2020. With almost 15 years in the automotive industry, Mr. Powell became Executive Director of the New Mexico Independent Automobile Dealers Association in 2017 and continues in that role.

During his time as a car dealer, Mr. Powell was named the New Mexico Auto Dealer of the year in 2013, and the National Independent Automobile Association’s Dealer of the Year in 2014. His company was also selected as a New Mexico Ethics in Business award recipient in 2015. A HERENCIA Founder at the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of commerce, Mr. Powell has been actively involved in the Albuquerque community since his arrival in 2008.

With over 25 years of experience in service to non-profits, Mr. Powell currently serves on the Executive Board of the Kirtland Partnership Committee and is past Chair of the Better Business Bureau of New Mexico and Southern Colorado Board of Directors. Prior to his automotive career, Mr. Powell was the CEO of IMADA Securities, Inc., a private investment partnership manager, for 15 years.

A graduate of the Air Force Academy, Mr. Powell spent six years as a United States Air Force officer. Mr. Powell also holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. He lives in Albuquerque with his wife and a menagerie of rescued animals.

MISSION STATEMENT

The AHCC is organized to promote economic development, enhance economic opportunities, and provide business and workforce education with an emphasis on the Hispanic and small business communities in Albuquerque and New Mexico.
