About Us

Southern style BBQ is what Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse specializes in!  Stop by the Ahwatukee restaurant, find the food truck around the Valley or let us cater your special day!  Our baby back ribs are fall off the bone delicious, the brisket is always smoked to perfection and the sides have a Southern flair. Try the collard greens, sweet potatoes or peach cobbler to really experience the South! 

Born and raised in a small town in Mississippi, Derry Hammond grew up enjoying the southern tradition of backyard BBQ’s with friends, family and a feast of incredible southern food.  After a childhood of helping both grandmas in the kitchen, Derry adapted some of his favorite recipes to create the menu at Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse - and still makes it from scratch daily just like grandma did.

Some southern hospitality, a big smile, the charming accent and, of course, amazing Southern barbecue is what you’ll find at Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse!
