About Foothill Learning Alliance
For those who have yet to get to know us, the Foothill Learning Alliance (FLA) was formed in 2011 by a small group of Azusa residents. Their passion for literacy, coupled with their concern for adults who lack literacy, brought them together to focus attention on the issue of adult literacy.
The Canyon City Foundation provided funding and guidance to create the organization and support its development as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Since then, the FLA has been instrumental in many of the literacy programs in Azusa. Grassroots ESL classes are taught weekly at varying sites throughout the city. The Literacy Program and the Inspired Citizenship Program, both housed at the Azusa Public Library continue to thrive as they serve members of the local Azusa community.
The FLA continues to search for ways to advocate, fundraise, and raise awareness of literacy needs within the local community. We are committed to seeing this community continue to thrive!
