Veteran's Day 11/11/2010 United Christian Church Fall Festival Thanksgiving Christmas Crafts & Parade 4th Quarter Business Social Lunch and LearnTuesday, October 26, the Chamber held a luncheon to give the public more of an understanding about the proposed amendments that were on the ballot Tuesday. There were some very good questions asked from the floor and hopefully the attendees left with a better understanding of what the verbiage in the amendments meant. | Meet Your DirectorsThe newest member of the Chamber Board of Directors is Dennis Collins with Collins Realty Group. Dennis moved from New Jersey to Titusville, Florida in 1983 and obtained his Real Estate license in 1987 and Community Association Management license in 1988. In 1991, Dennis and his wife moved into their newly built home where they were among the first residents of New Town of Viera. Having seen that area of Brevard County undergo unprecedented growth, complete with inadequate roads, traffic jams, overcrowded schools and out of reach home prices, they began searching for a small town with great people and a lot of potential. They found what they call a hidden jewel – Macclenny where Dennis opened Collins Realty Group, Inc., a full-service real estate and property management firm. Dennis is a member of the Macclenny Lions Club (Past President 2009-2010), Baker County Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Macclenny Zoning and Adjustment Board. He is also involved with Florida Economic Development Council (FEDCO) and the Cornerstone of Regional Development and its partners in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putman and St. Johns counties. He is a past member of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of Baker County.
Candy, Candy & More Candy
It is getting very close to time for the Christmas Crafts & Parade Day. Saturday, December 4th to be exact. 25 days from the date of typing this!! We need lots and lots of candy to fill the bags for the kiddies. If you are willing to donate, please drop your candy or money to purchase candy, by the Chamber office 9:00-5:00 Monday-Thursday or 9:00-1:00 on Friday. We appreciate our members willingness to assist with this event.
Trick or Treat on Main StreetOur second annual Trick or Treat on Main Street was held Saturday, October 30 from 2:00-4:00 pm with 18 businesses participating. Well over 100 children were given candy from the participating businesses. If you are on Main Street or fairly close, let us know next year if you would like to participate in this event. The kiddies are just too cute, and the parents are appreciative that the event is held in a good area where the kids are safe. Parade Day CelebrationThe Chamber of Commerce will be having Punch and Cookies with Santa Saturday, December 4 from 3:00-5:00 pm. Bring your kids and/or grandkids in to sit on Santa's knee and receive a bag of goodies. While they are in line, you can enjoy some punch and cookies!! If any Chamber members are willing to help with baking a few dozen cookies, let me know.
