Baker County Hazardous Waste Collection Event
A Baker County Hazardous Waste Collection Event will be on Saturday, February 24 from 9am-3pm at the Baker County Courthouse (55 N 3rd Street in Macclenny). The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Baker County Commission are sponsoring this project to collect,recycle, treat and properly dispose of these household hazardous wastes: pesticides, paint thinners, radiator fluid, used oil, oil filters, pool chemicals, solvents, insecticides, gasoline/fuels, fluorescent lamps, electronics, computers, tvs, paints, batteries (all types), fertilizers, household cleaners, corrosives, propane tanks, medications, aerosol cans and used cooking oil. This service is free to residents, and is provided to small businesses for a fee. Residents can call Robert Fletcher at (904) 275-2373 for more information; Businesses can call the Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 352-334-0440 for pricing.

Ditty Bags for Golf Tournament
We are still in need of items for our ditty bags that we give to each player at the golf tournament. Items that are great ditty bag prizes are sleeves of golf balls, golf towels, packs of tees and/or individual tees, we could also use pens, bag clips, coupons, and individual packs of cookies or crackers, etc. Items for ditty bags are a great advertising tool if you have them printed with your company logo and/or name on it. Please let us know if you are willing to donate something for the ditty bags or if you are willing to donate money towards the purchase of the ditty bag items. 28th Annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament
The Chamber of Commerce 28th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, March 23 at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jacksonville. Registration will start at 8am with a shotgun start at 9am. Corporate Sponsorships are available for $350 and includes two complimentary players, business name on putting green, newspaper recognition, name on sign displayed at the course during the tournament and displayed at the Chamber office for one year. Hole Sponsorships are available for $125 and includes your business name being placed at one of the holes the day of the tournament and newspaper recognition. Sponsorships also includes greens fees, cart, prizes, range/warm up balls and drawings. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
