The sales tax exemption applies to eligible clothing items selling for $75 or less and to eligible school supplies selling for $15 or less. The exemption does not apply to any item of clothing selling for more than $75 or school supplies selling for more than $15. Books are not exempt from tax during the 2011 sales tax holiday. If you would like a list of taxable and tax-exempt items, you can pick one up at the Chamber office.	Lunch and Learn Joanne Kazmierski, with JAXPORT, was the guest speaker at our Lunch and Learn held Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Chamber office. The presentation was very informative as Joanne shared about some of the different facilities that the Port runs, such as the three cargo terminals, the ferry and the cruise terminal. She told about the cargo handled at the Port including paper, corn sryup, vehicles and items in containers. We were shown a map of the future Hanjin Container Terminal and Joanne spoke quite alot on international trade, and how a business can make it happen if they sincerely want it to. Baker County Sesquicentennial Sponsorships There are four levels of sponsorships available for the Baker County Sesquicentennial Celebration. Each level includes reserved seating and parking passes for the parade which will kick-off the celebration. Your business logo and/or name(s) will be included in advertising and sponsor's names will be mentioned frequently throughout the activities. Founder Level $2000 8 seats, 2 parking passes Settler Level $1500 6 seats, 1 parking pass Frontiersman Level $1000 4 seats, 1 parking pass Pioneer Level $ 500 2 seats, 1 parking pass The are other options available for sponsoring specific items such as souvenior booklet and banners, you can call 259-1861 for more information. Be sure to attend our Lunch and Learn on July 18th. Chris Doolin, a Tallahassee Lobbyist who represents Baker County, will be presenting a legislative update to our Chamber membership and any guest you would like to bring.
