Happy Valentine's Day

First off, let me apologize for not getting a January newsletter to you.  No excuses, just didn't get it done!  Next, the Chamber of Commerce staff and Board of Directors hopes you had a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.  We hope you enjoy the thank you gift that we sent out to all Chamber members.

As you can see on the calendar events, we have a business social at Phantom Fireworks in February. We can all get a good look at their beautiful new facility.  There will be giveaways and of course, food!  The first quarter lunch and learn will be held Tuesday, February 28 and Gabrielle Bryan with JAXUSA will be sharing with us ways to market our businesses through social media. 

Then, a couple of months later, our 22nd Annual Golf Tournament @ Quail Heights Country Club in Lake City.  Putting in a plug now for prize gifts, ditty bag items, hole sponsorships @ $125 and corporate sponsorships including two players @$350.  Players' entry fees are $50 and that includes continential breakfast, cart and lunch after the tournament.

Also, we will have our 2nd annual Glitz, Glam & Goodies.  Last year was very successful and we have hopes of making this year bigger and better!  If you are retail store or a service and/or your major market is to women, make plans to join us this year.  Spots are free to Chamber members.  If you have a friend with a business and they are not Chamber members, they can rent a spot for $50.

By now, everyone should have received their membership cards for 2012.  These cards will enable you to get your member-to-member discounts at participating member businesses.  If you need additional cards for your employees, let us know.  If you need more than 10 cards, there will be a small charge.  You can check out the member-to-member discounts on our website www.bakerchamberfl.com, click on Member-to-Member Discounts.

If you have not signed up to offer other Chamber members a discount at your business and would like to do so, let us know and we will email, fax or mail you the application.  You like getting discounts and/or freebies, don't you? Why not extend one to other Chamber members!

If you could have your very own app to help attract customers to your business, would you be interested? There would be a one time development/set-up fee of $99 and a re-accruing monthly charge of $14.95.  There is an opportunity for the Chamber to help provide this to our members if there is enough interest from the membership. There is no commitment required at this time, but we do need to know if you are interested.

We are diligently working on getting the Worksource interviews done for this year.  If you are in retail, insurance or the medical field and I haven't already interviewed you, and you would be a willing candidate for a 20 minute interview, please let me know.  I promise - it is painless.
