The first quarter business social was held March 26 at the Baker County Family YMCA. It was well attended by Chamber members and guest. If you missed the social, you missed a great opportunity to meet other members of the business community and tell them about your business. You also missed a chance to learn more about our local YMCA and all the great things they have available for your family.
Be looking for the next Business Social to be announced and put it on your calendar to attend so you won't miss out again. Calendar Events

Chamber's Annual Banquet | Glitz Glam & Goodies
Glitz Glam & Goodies is coming up Saturday, May 18. We have changed our venue this year to Macclenny First Baptist Church Family Life Center. This will enable us to have more space and a larger stage for the entertainment. The event is from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Member booths are FREE and non-member booths are $50. So if you are a vendor that caters to the ladies and would like to have a booth for this event, please let us know. There will be entertainment throughout the day and one lucky lady will receive a make-over. The make-over will be done during the event. Groundbreaking for New Bank
Monday, March 18, 2013, was the groundbreaking for the new American Enterprise Bank building. Executives from AEB, construction company, city officials, chamber members, friends and family were on site for the event. The new facility should be completed in October.
Lunch and Learn
Time Management in a Multi-tasking Society was the topic of the Lunch and Learn held Tuesday, April 9. Dr. Sheri Carder, from Florida Gateway College, gave an informative and humorous presentation on time management, wasting time and how we think we are multi-tasking with our electronics!
Some ways to get the most our of your day: 1. Make a to do list that includes tasks that: a) You have to do; b) You should do 2. Keep a calendar 3. Close your office door to cut down on interruptions 4. Don't let email interrupt you 5. Don't let phone calls interrupt you, use your voice mail 6. It's OK to say no 7. Take a lunch break, it will help you be more productive Additional recommendations for time management are to handle every piece of paper that comes across your desk one time; when you assign something, let them do it; pick projects carefully. |
