This social will be a little different - all downtown businesses that are not members, are being invited to the social. So, we need a good group of members to attend this social. New County MapsIt's time for new maps to be printed for our growing community! Emails and letters have been sent to all Chamber members regarding pricing and sizes. There are limited spaces on the map, so let us know early if you wish to purchase an ad on the map. Here at the Chamber office, we give out atleast one every day, five days a week.
| Farmer's Market Grand OpeningThe Baker County Farmer's Market held its grand opening Saturday, April 3 with eight vendors. The public and vendors have been appreciative of the market being open in Macclenny and look forward to its continued success. The products being sold vary from week to week. The selection has included strawberries, veggies, veggie plants, shrubs and trees of all kinds, yard wood art, hair bows, etc. The grand opening was well attended and the attendees were entertained by the bluegrass band, Bluegrass Breeze. If you haven't been out to visit the market yet, you are definitely missing out. Bennett's Feed Grand Re-Opening and Customer Appreciation DayBennett's Feed, Farm and Pet Center's grand re-opening and customer appreciation day was held Saturday, April 17 from 11:00 am-4:00 pm. Lots of fun and good food for the dozens of people that stopped by. The kids enjoyed bounce houses and a barrell train. The bluegrass band, Bluegrass Breeze, entertained for most of the afternoon.
20th Annual Golf TournamentThe 20th annual golf tournament was held Friday, April 30 at Quail Heights Golf Club in Lake City. The weather was wishy washy and we had alittle sunshine, alittle rain and alot of muggy. We had 80 players and most were happy with the change to Quail Heights. The winning team included Alan Adcock, Bernard Bradley, Jason Holton and Brandon Maddox, second place team was Gordon King, Anthony Taylor, Archie Bryant and Anthony Miller. Longest drive winner was Anthony Miller, longest putt was Andrew Bell and closest to the pin winner was Jamie Webb.
Kudos to our volunteers - Steve Register with North Florida Farm Credit, Lori Dugan with First Coast Women's Services and Dave Wright with Dupont. Special thanks to Burkins Chevrolet for providing the vehicle for the hole-in-one.
Hope to see more of you playing in next year's tournament.
