Our 3rd Annual Glitz Glam & Goodies is Saturday, May 18 at Macclenny First Baptist Church Family Life Center. The new venue will enable us to have more space and a larger stage for the entertainment. The event is from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Admission to the event is $2. Lots of fun, food, raffles, drawings and shopping.
Some participating vendors are Its Works, Pampered Chef, Premier Jewelry, American Cancer Society, Baker Women's Political Network , Thirty One, Pink Zebra, Mary Kay, Celebrating Home, and lots more. Cheeseburger plates will be sold by the youth of FBC to raise money for their mission trips. Sponsors for the events are Gibson McDonald Furniture, First Federal Bank of Florida, Oldcastle Southern Group and Walmart DC. Golf Tournament - 3 Way Tie!
Our 23rd annual golf tournament was held Friday, April 19 at Bent Creek Golf Course. The weather was perfect for the tournament and we ended the tournament with a 3 way tie. Management at Bent Creek had preselected holes to compare scores in the event a tie happened.
The winning team members were Darryl Register, Adam Giddens and Tim Starling. Second place team was CJ Thompson, Paul Hamilton, Edsel Smith and Josh Smith. Thanks to all our corporate and hole sponsors and our volunteers; to American Enterprise Bank, our drink sponsor and Oldcastle Southern Group, our breakfast sponsor. The Chamber has kicked off a new project to produce a Visitor's and Re-Location Guide for the county. The Guide will be printed as well as a digital version on our website. An updated county map, The Osceola Trail, the Battlefield, hiking and birding trails will be included in the Guide. This is a great advertising opportunity for all local businesses.
