Lunch and Learn

At our next Lunch and Learn, scheduled for March 4, staff from the St. Johns River Water Management District will present information about the Districts Five Year Water Supply Plan.
The plan has been developed as part of the District’s work to ensure that adequate and sustainable water supplies are available to meet future needs while protecting the environment. The Plan includes projected future increase in water demand, sustainable withdrawal limits for water resources and related natural systems, and the methods and means necessary to insure a sustainable water supply.

Make plans to join us for this Lunch and Learn.

Personal Identity Theft

Our first Lunch and Learn of the year, Personal Identity Theft, was held Tuesday, January 28 at the Chamber office. Cathy Costley, Victim Services Program Specialist, Office of the Attorney General, did a great job sharing with us some general information regarding the different ways your identity can be stolen.  Did you know your medical info can be stolen as well as your personal identification? There is a very long list of items theives can use to steal your identity.  For example, your mother's maiden name, food stamps, passports, etc.

Glitz Glam & Goodies

The 4th Annual Glitz Glam & Goodies was held Saturday, February 1 at the  Ag Center.  Sponsors for the event were Country Federal Credit Union, First Federal Bank of Florida, Gibson McDonald Furniture, Moonlight Blessings and Walmart DC #6099.  There were 22 vendors at the event, including, just to name a few, Pampered Chef, Avon, Tupperware, American Cancer Society, Mary Kay, Thirty One Products, as well as some scrumptious chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes and chicken salad plates prepared by FBC Macclenny as a fundraiser for their youth camp. Drawings were held at each booth and some fabulous raffles were donated by the sponsors.  A performance by the Macclenny Elementary Glee Club and a demonstration by Anytime Fitness Zumba instructor, Kendra Morgan with some of ehr zumba class rounded out the day.  State Forestry Queens, Stephanie Young, Whitney Moore, Callie Johnson and Emily Davis, were on hand for autographs and to pose for pictures.
