Benson Clean and Beautiful Art Sale!

Local artists have donated their paintings, carvings, and clay works to Benson Clean and Beautiful's fund raiser. You can stop by and take a look at these works of art any time the office is open at the Benson Clean and Beautiful/Chamber of Commerce offices at 168 E 4th Street in Benson. They are for sale at substantial savings off of original price, and if you really like something, make an offer!
All proceeds go directly to fund BC&B's current and future mural projects that make Benson so bright and interesting! Come on in and see the wonderful works of our local artisans!

Shred For A Kid

Please take a look at the calander and see the information on the Shred For A Kid benefitting Shop With a Cop program. This is one of their biggest fund raisers, and it is nice knowing that your shredded documents will be handled safely and securely, while benefitting such a good cause!

The Winner of the Electric BBQ

We want to thank David Bryan and Sulpher Springs Electric for their donation of an electric BBQ for the Chamber's Christmas raffle fund raiser! Tickets were sold at Christmas on Main and our Christmas Chamber Dinner. The lucky winner of the BBQ was Dan Watkins, Manager of the Benson GoodWill store. Thank you David, and congratulations Dan!

Christmas on Main

Christmas on Main Street has a very nice variety of vendors this year, and 2 very nice food vendors. We were full on our spaces available to vendors, and our Santa Booth had some touch ups done. Thank you to the City of Benson's Public Works Department for putting up the stakes to hang our banners, and addressing a health hazard on one of the properties.

We very deeply appreciate our sponsors: G & T Cooperatives, AZ Lifeline, Hartmann Insurance, Sulpher Springs Valley Electric Coop, and Walmart. We also are very appreciative of Santa and Mrs. Claus to take time and come down to see the kids, and for our entertainers as well.

Unfortunately, the beautiful spring like day before the event, did not stick around, and we had to close up at 11a.m. because of a snow storm. We have the list of all of the vendors, and arrangements will be made with them for next year, to help compensate the booth space from this year, and to show our appreciation for their support of our event.

We are looking at the possibily of moving the venue indoors next year, and possibly involving our member's businesses some how as well. Good ideas have been thrown out onto the table, and we always welcome more! If you have an idea, on how to deal with this challenge please let Debi know!

Spotlight Business of the Month

The Benson Chamber of Commerce is proud to present our January Spotlight Business of the month!
January is Derrick Roger's "The Shop". Derrick has been in business for 4 years now as a full service auto repair shop. Located at 684 E. 4th street under the bridge in "Automotive Alley", Derrick has aquired a bigger, newer, nicer shop than the one he started out at on Pearl Street. He offers Military and senior discounts, and is known for being fair, honest, and trustworthy. he employees 2 other mechanics, and offers spray in bed liners besides the regular auto repair services. Derrick understands the necessity of networking with other businesses in town to offer referrals for customers for other services, and is always looking for network partnerships. He is well aware of the prosperous possibilities that businesses working together can offer. The Shop also is a sponsor for community based events and contributes to making fun things happen in Benson!
