Dear Chamber Member and Business Owner,
The Chamber is here to build the business community and see it thrive in 2018. The Chamber has adopted the 3Ps as the drivers and measures of our success in serving you. Our goals are to Promote, Protect (Preserve), and Partner. We are your representative and your voice.
Over the past three plus years your Chamber has been involved in and has watched the progress of The Villages of Vigneto. We have written letters, been to the call to the public, and public hearings to give a positive word for the project. We have attended all of their promotional and by “Special Invitation” meetings.
On December 28th there was a special meeting where the City Council approved the CFD's and RD's. This means that Vigneto has the green light from the City of Benson.
What does this mean for you, the Chamber Member? Member concerns have fallen into three categories:
1. We have spoken with some who are looking to retire and would like to sell their businesses. We know you have been waiting to hear news about where Vigneto is with their time line. You would like to get the best price for your business and we get that.
2. Then we have existing businesses who would like to expand a bit and are wondering if the investment is going to be worth it. We know that it is all about timing. The Chamber has been watching and working with you to see and report the progress of the project.
3. You who have just opened a new business want to know when Vigneto is going to bring in more people. It is projected that Vigneto is going to break ground sometime early Spring. Things are lining up pretty fast with them right now. Once that happens they are saying they will have close to 2,000 contract personnel working on the infrastructure. That means customers!
One last tidbit: we have added a new face to the Chamber, Najayyah Many Horses, our new Administrative Assistant. You will get another email with her formal introduction soon.
