With the arrival of 2017, many new and exciting changes will be coming to your local chamber. First off, some new faces to our Board Executive Committee. At the December Board Meeting, elections were held to name the 2017 Executive Committee. New Officers include Jessica Whitlow as Board President, Troy Ray as Vice President, and Lauren Johnson as Board Secretary. Gay Bowlin is staying on the committee, but shifting to the Treasurer position from being the 2016 Board Secretary. We are grateful to Rhonda Gilbreath and Tim Millenbine for their leadership during a very difficult year and look forward to their mentorship of the next generation of chamber leaders. Last month, new and current board members took advantage of an orientation to review organization by-laws and goals for 2017.
Along with working internally to create a stronger organization to serve our members, we are focused on providing excellent business services to our members and community. Over the holiday break, we implemented a new management system through ChamberNation that will streamline membership fulfillment requests and provide a more dynamic online experience for our online visitors. An integrated calendar will provide a central location for community events within our community and our region. Event registrations will allow visitors to RSVP for events and set reminders so they don't miss out on a minute of fun. Much more is coming, so stay tuned!
