2017 Shop Small Business Saturday

Is your business ready for Small Business Saturday? November 25 is the big day! Let us know what specials or deals you have going on or if you have special holiday hours you'd like to share! Shop Small Business Saturday began in 2010 and was started by American Express in an effort to support local small businesses that make our communities strong. It was launched the Saturday after Thanksgiving hoping to help bring more holiday shopping to small businesses. Christmas Parade Information

That time is upon us already! Can you believe how fast this year has gone by? Seems like yesterday we were sitting along the streets of the Historic District sipping hot cocoa and waiting for Santa and Mrs Claus to come by on his sleigh! Oh! We can't forget the terrific win of the Christmas House on last year's Great Light Fight! Well, all that is back and more this year with Santa's Electric Night Parade! Does your business want to be a part of it? If you're interested in having an entry in the parade, download the application here and make sure you turn it in quick! Save yourself some money and get it in by November 24! If you are a Bronze Investor with the Chamber, you can also provide us with your company banner to be walked in the parade! We do need those turned into the Chamber office by November 17 at 4:00 p.m. Please also let us know if you need volunteers to carry the banners down the route or if you will be providing your own volunteers. Can't wait to see all of the amazing entries this year!

Oh and guess what? Channel 8 News will be doing their live weather report from Crowe Park on December 1st beginning at 5:00 p.m. Want to come be part of their live shots? Come on down EARLY and enjoy the tree lighting! Bring some hot cocoa!

November Lunch & Learn: Quickbooks 2018

Marisa Pardinas of Pardinas BC, LLC will be the guest during our November Lunch & Learn. Come learn about the new features of Quickbooks Desktop 2018 along with the different subscriptions offered through Quickbooks Online. 2017 Campaign School

If you are interested in running for office but would like to get some foundational education about the process as well as issues, then this is for you! The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 2017 Campaign School where you get to learn what it takes to become a winning candidate directly from campaign strategists, political news commentators, as well as current elected officials at the local and state level. Learning modules include expectations of running for office, developing a comprehensive campaign strategy, engaging with the news media, how to seek campaign endorsements and more. If you have ever considered serving on local boards and commissions, City Council, County Board of Supervisors, Legislature or you want to be an educated campaign volunteer, this is for you! Henderson Chamber members are $45 and non-members are $55 and covers the cost of your lunch. Advance registration is required and you can do so here.

The American Association of University Women Home Tour 2017

The 42nd AAUW Home Tour will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 1-4.  Tickets are $10 each and may be bought from the Boulder Dam Hotel, the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, or from AAUW members.  Six homes will be on the tour this year plus the winning room at the Boulder Dam Hotel.  If you have any questions, call Lue Ann Amburn 702-338-8862 or email at lueamburn2@cox.net
