Branch County Community Foundation

The Branch County Community Foundation – Plant seeds that will grow beyond your lifetime!

Did you know you can make a difference in the future without impacting your current finances? It is meaningful philanthropy almost anybody can do! Generous gifts can often go unrecognized at the end of a donor’s life. We created the Legacy Society to honor individuals now who have included the Community Foundation in their future giving plans. We learn about donors’ passions and vision for the future in their own words – beyond the legal jargon.

We invite you to join the Legacy Society in two easy steps! Contact the Community Foundation to find out how! You can call/text 517-278-4517, email info@BrCoFoundation.org, or visit our new location at 2 W. Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU)

YOU is a career pathway organization providing people in Southwest Michigan with academic enrichment, job training and workforce readiness opportunities since 1961. Our mission is to cultivate individual and community-wide prosperity through dynamic career development opportunities.

YOU is a proud partner of Michigan Works! Southwest, which is how we primarily serve adults seeking employment services. Michigan Works! Southwest serves Kalamazoo, Branch, Calhoun and St. Joseph counties. We are located in Coldwater at 210 Vista Drive.

In this location, a plethora of services are offered on a walk-in and appointment basis. Those seeking assistance with anything from registering for unemployment, resume review, veteran services, GED prep, on-site networking and interviews with employers on a daily basis, and interview coaching are welcome to our services free of charge.

Michigan Works! Southwest is building local prosperity one great job at a time. We see opportunities when we build connections between job seekers looking to grow their careers and employers seeking quality candidates with the job skills needed. We look at the big picture, watching employment trends and working with our community partners to make sure connections are made between employers, educators, trainers, and employees.

Our partners value the positive impact of meaningful employment. We work together to help workers with their job search, and for employers to have successful job recruitment of qualified candidates. Together, we promote personal and professional success – for individuals, businesses and our communities.

Now more than ever — with the evident shortage of individuals entering the professional and skilled trades workforce — employer partnerships with organizations like ours are crucial. Michigan is experiencing a shortage of workers in manufacturing, healthcare, information technology and construction, and connecting individuals with these high-skill, high-wage jobs through Michigan Works! services helps bridge the employment gap.

We’re plugged into the specific opportunities here in each of the four counties we serve. As local community members, we have a deep understanding of existing and growing industries, training and education opportunities, and the current status of our workforce. We integrate services across agencies and programs for maximum impact on our service area.

For more information on what Michigan Works! Southwest in Branch County can do for you, contact 517-278-0200.
