Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.  Kiwanis has over 7,000 clubs worldwide with over 600,000 members.  Annually Kiwanis Clubs raise more than $100 million and report more than 18.5 million service hours to strengthen communities and serve children.  Kiwanis Club of Coldwater is celebrating 85 years of service to the Coldwater community.  The Club’s primary focus is meeting the needs of children and raising literacy levels is one of our major goals.  The Club’s literacy projects include Terrific Kids, Schools of Hope, Branch District Library Traveling Tales and the Dictionary Project.  The Club is providing age appropriate books to kindergarten through 5th grade students in all Coldwater Schools including St. Charles and Pansophia Academy three times per year as recognition for achieving reading or behavioral goals set by the teachers.  Over 6,000 books are given to students each year.

Coldwater Kiwanis is also the charter sponsoring organization for Boy Scout Troop 433 and provides the troop with financial assistance for camps, Eagle Scout projects and other needs.  Kiwanis and Boy Scout Troop 433 partner in the Flags Across Coldwater project where approximately 600 flags are being displayed throughout the city on five patriotic holidays each year.

The Kiwanis Club supports many other projects in the community including Tibbits Young Audience, Beginnings Care for Life, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Mary & Martha Diner, Forgotten Man Ministries and many others.  Meetings are held Mondays 11:45 – 1:00 at the Elks Lodge.  Contact Ray Sebastian, Club President at 269-580-1957 or any other Kiwanis member if you would like information on any of our projects or would like to join us in serving the community.  Visit us on Facebook to see updates from the Club!
